Ancient Roman coins were brought to life by HMS 6th graders! 🏛️ They deciphered inscriptions, identified emperors, and uncovered historical clues. 🔎

HMS Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A was a hit! Families braved the cold, teachers worked registers, students spun prizes. Over $1,100 raised for HMS PTO. A fun, successful night!

The HMS band, orchestra, and Spartan Chorale had a blast at Disney World! ☀️🎶 They enjoyed the rides, participated in a recording clinic, and performed at Disney Springs. What a magical trip!

🏀🏆 Huge congrats to the HMS 7th-grade boys' basketball team on their conference championship win! 🎉 They finished the season 13-2, with a final victory over Bryan Middle School. This makes it a clean sweep for HMS 7th-grade basketball - both boys and girls are champs!

Congratulations to HMS teacher Kelly Pelak for receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching! This national award recognizes her outstanding dedication to STEM education.
Ms. Pelak will receive $10,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C. for a recognition ceremony. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments!

The HMS Jazz Ensemble, led by Mr. Andrikokus, performed live on WGN News last Friday and will be performing at the Illinois Music Education Conference in Peoria this Friday, January 31st. They have also been invited to perform at the Illinois Education Association's Regional Assembly on Thursday, March 13th.
